All-Star Game

All-Stars Prepare to Shine!

The fifth annual Spokane Hoops Elite Basketball League (EBL, formerly known as Spokane AAU) All-Star Game, presented by Northern Quest Resort & Casino / Kalispel Tribe is taking place Sunday, January 13 at West Valley High School (Spokane). Our players have been perfecting their skills all season, and now a select few get to battle it out on the court!

Within the Spokane Hoops EBL for girls and boys, every eighth-grade coach nominates two players from their own team, and two players from other teams who they believe performed exceptionally during the season. The players with the most nominations are chosen, and the teams are formed for what have become some of the biggest games in January.

"We want to provide our athletes with another opportunity to play and be celebrated," explains Matt Santangelo, Executive Director of Spokane Hoops Association. "This is what our All-Star game accomplishes for our league."

Each year, celebrity coaches pass on their knowledge of the game and lead their teams. Previous coaches have come from universities around the region, including Gonzaga's Richard Fox, Cory Violette, Blake Stepp, Mike Nilson, Matt Santangelo, Syd Perno-Mott, Claire Rapp and Shaniqua Nilles, and Eastern Washington University's Parker Kelly.

This year, tip-off for girls is at 1 p.m. and boys start at 3 p.m. at West Valley High School.

Come support our All-Stars, who benefit greatly from our youth programs like Spokane Hoops Elite Basketball League.
