Overview

League Play

Spokane AAU Basketball operates as a competitive youth 5-on-5 basketball league for youth in grades four through eight. Separate conferences exist for boys and girls; there are no co-ed teams. All participants in the League, including all players and coaches, must have a current AAU Card. Teams are formed by coaches selecting their own players and submitting their Registration Packet by the designated deadline. Registration deadline is mid-September and teams are accepted into the League on a space available basis. By submitting an Intent Packet and deposit, a team may secure a spot in their division in the League. Participation is not guaranteed until a completed Registration packet, including remaining balance payment, is received by the League Office by the designated deadline. The League Office does assist individuals attempting to find a team by placing them on an interested players list. Coaches needing additional players may contact the League Office for the interested player list. Coaches will contact interested players directly; it is not the responsibility of the League Office to place players on teams.

Each team participating within the League season is guaranteed twelve scheduled games, including an end of the season tournament culminating with "Championship Sunday". The League operates from early November through mid-February.

Tournament Play

In addition to scheduled League games, three tournaments are coordinated by Spokane Regional AAU. Each tournament's registration and entry fee is separate from the League registration and fee. All participants in the AAU tournament, including all players and coaches, must have a current AAU Card. The three grade-based tournaments offered during the 2011-2012 season are as follows:

  • Boo Ball Fall Classic: November 5 & 6, 2011
  • Santa Slammer Winter Classic: December 17 & 18, 2011
  • Shootout Spring Classic: February 25 & 26, 2012
  • Camps and Clinics

Spokane Regional AAU Basketball regularly offers clinics to those looking to increase their skill level and enhance their game. Please contact the League Office for clinic dates and further information.
