We encourage teams to reserve their spot in the 2011-2012 Spokane AAU League by completing and Intent Form. The 2011-2012 League Intent Packet is available online. If you would like a paper packet, please contact our office at (509) 624-2414. The deadline to return the complete Intent Packet, reserving your spot in our 2011-2012 League Season (upon completing the Registration packet by the designated deadline) is August 15.
Open registration for AAU begins on August 16. All teams wanting to play in the 2011-2012 AAU League must complete a Registration process including full payment of the League fee no later than September 12, 2011. Please note that once Registration has been completed, the roster is considered frozen and players may not change teams. If your team has completed an Intent form and submitted the proper deposit, a spot will be held in the League for your team until your Registration is completed according to the September 12 deadline. Submitting the Intent does not guarantee your team’s entry into the League if your Registration is not completed by this deadline. If an Intent form has been submitted, the $100 deposit will be applied towards the team's League fee when completing the registration process. Teams that do not submit an Intent form, but do complete the Registration process and League fee are likely to be accepted in the League, but not guaranteed a spot. While submission of an Intent form prior to the Open Registration Period is not mandatory, it is encouraged in order to reserve your spot in the League. The League will accommodate as many teams as possible on a space available basis during the Registration Period.
Any team still wanting to register for AAU after the Open Registration Period may do so by completing the Registration between September 13-19, 2011. This fee includes the Team League fee (of $1,300) and a $100 late registration charge. Teams will be accepted into the League during this time on a space available basis.
After the Open Registration Period deadline, completed team rosters are frozen until October 10. From this date through October 14, non-rostered players may be added to increase roster size up to a maximum of twelve players during the designated Initial Player Addition Period. Please remember that all rostered players are committed to that team for the duration of the League season and may not switch teams. Players may only be rostered on one AAU team. Teams are grade-based and players may play a grade up, but are not allowed to play down. If you require additional player forms, please contact the League Office for a copy of the Interested Players List for their respective grade level.
Final player add-ons for participation in the twelve (12) game League Season will occur during the Final Player Addition Period running November 14 through November 28, 2011. During this time only non-rostered players may be added to increase roster size up to a maximum of fifteen players. Please remember that all rostered players are committed to that team for the duration of the League season and may not switch teams. Players may only be rostered on one AAU team. Teams are grade-based and players may play a grade up, but are not allowed to play down. If you require additional player forms, please contact the League Office. Players added during this period will be eligible to play their first league game on December
3, 2011.
The office will be closed from November 24-27, 2011 for Thanksgiving Holiday.
NEW FOR 2011-2012: EACH MEMBER OF THE COACHING STAFF WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR COACH IDENTIFYING CREDENTIALS.
Coaches must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older, unless otherwise approved by the League Office. If the approved coach is less than twenty-one (21) years of age, an adult at least twenty-one (21) years of age must be at the games and practices, and must sit with the coach on the bench. Each coach, assistant coach and/or parent assisting in running practices or games must possess a current AAU coach’s card. A team may only have three (3) coaches (the registered head coach and 2 registered assistants) on the bench during League and tournament games. The team coach is responsible for notifying the league office of changes in coaches, team contacts, mailing addresses, or any other changes that pertain to the team.
Teams that participate in the Spokane AAU League are separate from the organization. The coaches, players, and parents representing each team are responsible for their own monies, practice times, player playing time, designated responsibilities and team policies for that individual team. Spokane AAU provides teams with the service of League play and will not be responsible for the individual team organization or finances.
